An indispensable tool At the 5th VBG Forum on Security Services, Marcus Schermann (Head of Mobile Technology and CTO Security at DB Sicherheit GmbH) gave a presentation on the use of body cameras at DB Sicherheit – from testing to regular operation. It was an exciting presentation on the data protection challenges associated with the use of body cameras in a large company. Marcus Schermann also reported in detail on the preventive effect of body cameras. The facts show that DB Sicherheit employees equipped with our NetCo body camera are less likely to be victims of physical attacks, if at all. DB Security focuses on the deterrent and de-escalating nature of body cameras, but also on the possibility of tracking criminal offences. Evidence can be transmitted directly to the federal police in encrypted form. Schermann emphasises that body cameras have become an indispensable tool for protecting employees and rail customers. ## DB Security has been a customer since 2017
Deutsche Bahn has been a NetCo customer since 2017 and has been using our body cameras nationwide on train platforms and by DB Security staff since 2019. DB Regio primarily uses the body cameras for ticket inspections and for security personnel. The use of body cameras serves to prevent incidents.
