Successful third body camera conference

Under the proven motto “Expertise — Network — Best Practice”, the third edition of the annual body camera conference provided a platform for experts, users and decision-makers from the public transport, local government and security services sectors to exchange experiences. The aim of the event was to promote cooperation and knowledge exchange through practical applications and training courses on the use of body cameras. ## Opening speech and keynote

The full-day event was opened by Prof. Dr Lutz Hagner, CEO of NetCo Professional Services GmbH. Dr Christos Katzidis, Member of the State Parliament and spokesperson for internal affairs for the CDU NRW, gave an inspiring keynote speech entitled “Security motivates and brings success”, in which he emphasised the importance of body cameras for public safety. ## Diverse programme and intensive discussions

The varied programme offered the approximately 50 participants from the private and public security sectors and public transport valuable insights and practical information on various aspects of body cameras: * Use of body cameras in Munich: Marlies Möbius from Stadtwerke München reported on successful implementations and the positive effects on security in Munich.

  • Preparing employees: Dipl.-Psych. Dipl. oec. Udo Kluttig from LOGO Bochum GbR explained the psychological aspects of training employees in the use of body cameras. * Conflict management: Oliver Pohl, author and trainer, spoke about the importance of communication and conflict resolution with the help of body cameras.
  • Use of body cameras at DB Security: Marcus Schermann, CTO at DB Security, presented the experiences and possible applications at Deutsche Bahn. * Possible applications and experiences in public order services: Sascha Hessenbruch, head of the public order office at the Federal City of Bonn, presented practical applications and experiences.

Networking and exchange The event offered ample opportunity for discussion and open networking. Participants were able to make valuable contacts and exchange experiences. Whether already experienced or new to the field of body cams, the conference offered all participants valuable insights and inspiration for their work. ## Conclusion and outlook The conference ended with a summary and outlook by Prof. Dr. Lutz Hagner. He emphasised the importance of cooperation and the exchange of experiences and knowledge to further improve safety through body cameras. The participants were unanimously positive about the event and the professional exchange. The fourth edition of the conference is already planned and will take place on 14 May 2025 in Frankfurt.
