In recent weeks, the NetCo Body-Cam team has been travelling throughout Germany to attend events and conferences in the security industry. ## Federal Congress “Kommunale Ordnung” (Municipal Order) of the Behörden Spiegel in Rostock
On 27 September 2023, Behörden Spiegel hosted the Federal Congress on “Municipal Order” in Rostock. The focus of this event was on internal security and municipal hazard prevention. The presentations and discussions addressed topics such as sustainable public order offices and strategies and methods for dealing with aggressive citizens. The NetCo team used the breaks to talk to partner municipalities from North Rhine-Westphalia, such as Münster, Hamm and Bochum, about their current body cam projects. We also got into conversation with many interested municipalities from other federal states that are still hoping for a permit to use the technology.
6th VBG Forum on Security Services in Essen On 10 October 2023, the VBG – the German employers’ liability insurance association and provider of statutory accident insurance – together with the Federal Association of the Security Industry (BDSW) hosted the 6th VBG Forum on the topic of security services.
The event featured numerous presentations and discussions on security services, including the important topic of “body cameras in the private security industry”. Another highlight was the “VBG Security Report” presented by Ralf Servas, Head of the DGUV Security Services Division, which takes a closer look at structural developments and accidents in the security services industry and highlights prevention measures tailored to the industry with subsidies from the VBG. From 2024, body cameras will also be included in the premium procedure and their purchase will be subsidised for security companies. NetCo very much welcomes this step, as body cameras are now regarded as a preventive measure that complies with legal requirements.
Bavarian Security Day in Munich On 18 October 2023, the Bavarian Association for Security in Business (BVSW) and the Federal Association of the Security Industry (BDSW) organised the Bavarian Security Day with presentations on various security topics such as the use of drones, the future of corporate security and event security at large events. Body cams can also play a major role in the latter topic. Participants exchanged views on current developments and used the event – like NetCo – as a networking platform.
