Nowadays, safety is of paramount importance for both passengers and railway staff. Deutsche Bahn recently published a press release highlighting how body cameras contribute to a safer everyday railway experience. As the manufacturer of the body cameras for Deutsche Bahn, the importance of this technology is emphasised here and how it specifically contributes to safety in rail transport is explained.
Why body cameras? Deutsche Bahn decided to use body cameras to increase safety and the feeling of security for both passengers and staff. In conflict situations, body cameras can have a de-escalating effect and at the same time provide valuable evidence that can help clarify the situation in an emergency.

The technology behind the body-cams The body-cams are equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enables clear and distinct video recording. They are robust, easy to use and offer a long battery life – perfect for use in the hectic everyday life of railway employees. The recordings are stored securely and can be evaluated quickly and easily when needed.
Practical experience After only a short time, it is already clear that the use of body-cams has had a positive effect. Deutsche Bahn employees report an increased sense of security and a noticeable reduction in conflict situations. Passengers also feel safer when they see that security personnel are equipped with body-cams.

Deutsche Bahn has developed clear guidelines for the use of the cameras in order to protect the privacy of all those involved.
Other areas of application in public transport In addition to Deutsche Bahn, other transport companies are also relying on NetCo’s body-cam technology. For example, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) uses body-cams on the U7 and U8 underground lines and throughout the entire underground network to increase safety. Wiener Linien also uses body-cams on platforms and in trains. Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe (KVB) uses body-cams for its service and security staff throughout the entire public transport network. These examples show how widespread and effective the use of body-cams is in public transport. ## Our references:
