Successful launch for new event format: NetCo body camera expert dialogue impresses in Kassel NetCo successfully launched a new event format on 29 January 2026 with its first body camera expert dialogue. Interest in the event was already very high in the run-up to the event – the expert dialogue in Kassel was fully booked a week before the date. The premiere was met with a thoroughly positive response from participants from transport companies, local authorities and security-related sectors. The format was repeatedly rated as ‘very important and definitely worth repeating’.
The aim of the expert dialogue is to take a holistic look at the use of body cameras – from the technical basics and legal framework to the psychological and practical aspects of de-escalation. In Kassel, the programme offered a balanced mix of specialist presentations, practical reports and open discussion.
NetCo opened the event with an introduction to the new dialogue format and an overview of current developments in the field of body camera solutions. Concrete application scenarios clearly demonstrated the role that body cameras can play in the everyday work of security personnel today.
Rheinbahn AG, among others, provided practical insights, reporting on its experiences with the use of body cameras in ticket inspection. The topics covered included organisational processes and the impact on employees and passengers.
Another focus was on the legal and data protection framework. This included an explanation of the information obligations that body cam wearers must observe, the legal basis for body cam use, especially in Hesse, and the rights of those affected. The programme was supplemented by contributions on the psychological effects of body cams. Scientific findings and practical examples were used to demonstrate the conditions under which body cameras can have a preventive effect and contribute to the de-escalation of conflict situations. The expert dialogue was rounded off by a presentation on de-escalation in practice, which provided concrete recommendations for action in challenging situations.
“The great response shows how great the need is for informed exchange on the use of body cameras,” says Anna-Lena Nolte, Head of Body Camera at NetCo. “Body cameras are much more than just technology – they provide tangible support to security personnel in their daily work. For their use to be effective, they must be considered holistically: technically, legally and, above all, humanely. The expert dialogue in Kassel was an ideal start and facilitated precisely this exchange.” Further regional body cam expert dialogues are already being planned in various cities. The next event will take place on 16 April in Mainz. The company also refers to the major NetCo body cam conference on 27 May 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, where the topic of body cams will once again be examined and explored in depth from a variety of perspectives in a large group setting.
